Kimbo Faces Tank Abbott at Next EliteXC
Kevin Ferguson, aka Kimbo Slice will take on fellow heavyweight Tank Abbott on February 16th according to ProElite sources. “A notorious bad boy and trash-talker, Abbott, of Huntington Beach, Calif., has called out Kimbo on numerous occasions and is supremely confident of a victory,” read the announcement.
Also fighting that evening will be MMA fighter and American Gladiator Gina Carano, Antonio Silva, Kyle Noke, Scott Smith, and James “The Colossus” Thompson.
In a shrewd business move, the fights will take place at the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami, no doubt to take advantage of Kimbo’s hometown crowd appeal in Miami, where he rose to notoriety by participating in backyard brawls that were distributed on YouTube.
The card will be televised on SHOWTIME at 10 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast).
